Orange County– Businesses and residents along the Central Florida Rail Corridor will notice construction activities as SunRail’s operating and maintenance contractor performs routine safety and maintenance work, which includes replacement of railroad ties to ensure the safe travel of SunRail, Amtrak and freight trains through the corridor.
This periodic replacement of railroad ties is typically performed when train and road traffic is reduced, including the nighttime windows of 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. and on weekends between 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
This activity will continue from December until March 2018 – with the exception of December 17 through January 1 – through the City of Winter Park, Orange County and the City of Orlando. During this track maintenance, there may be some periods of noise as the track bed is prepared.
