DeBary, Fla. – Drivers need to be aware of two upcoming detours when traveling north of the DeBary Florida Power and Light (FPL) Power Plant and west of U.S. 17-92. The detours will be for work at the Barwick Road and Ft. Florida Road railroad crossings. Details for the closures are as follows:
- Barwick Road railroad crossing work is occurring 9 p.m. Saturday, April 25 until 1 p.m. Sunday, April 26. The detour for vehicles is to access Ft. Florida Road and Barwick Road.
- Ft. Florida Road railroad crossing work is occurring 9 p.m. Sunday, April 26 until 1 p.m. Monday, April 27. The detour for vehicles is to access Barwick Road.
The railroad crossings will be completely closed during this time. Detour signage is planned to direct motorists to the alternate routes.
These closures are necessary to upgrade the railroad crossings, which increases safety for both motor vehicles and train traffic. Construction times and schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other circumstances.
