The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has initiated a state-wide initiative to install safety measures at over 4,000 rail grade crossings by 2022. The schedule below outlines the location, dates and times of forthcoming construction. The installations will occur primarily in the overnight hours as it will require re-routing of traffic and lane closures.
Please note that dates and times may be modified due to weather related or other delays.
About Dynamic Envelopes
Dynamic Envelopes are painted roadway markings that increase safe stopping behavior and safety for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic at grade rail crossings. Drivers may notice these painted white stripes on both sides of grade crossings throughout the SunRail corridor as part of a phased approach to installation throughout Volusia, Seminole, Orange and Osceola Counties. These clearly marked “no stop” areas positively influence driver behavior, reduce the number of vehicles entering the crossing and stopping too close to or on the tracks, and decrease the number of incidents and injuries at rail crossings.Learn More
