Lake Beresford Park To Temporarily Close For SunRail Construction

VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA – Lake Beresford Park, located at 2100 Fatio Road in DeLand, will temporarily close from Oct. 13 to Nov. 10 to facilitate the construction of a new train track for the SunRail service extension to DeLand.

The St. Johns River to Sea Loop trail will remain accessible west of the train tracks. Entrances are available at the Blue Springs Avenue Trailhead and near Blue Springs State Park on French Avenue. However, trail users will not have access to Lake Beresford Park from this trail.

Renovations to the Lake Beresford Park restrooms will also be completed during this period. As work progresses, sections of the park will be gradually reopened once deemed safe for public access. Residents and visitors looking for a nearby park with a playground, pavilions, and restrooms can visit Spring Hill Park at 903 S. Thompson St., DeLand.
