Park Avenue Merchants Launch SunRail Rider Promotion

The Park Avenue Merchants Association, a committee of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, has launched “Free Ride Summer,” a promotion aimed at commuters traveling on SunRail. Effective July 9 through September 30, 2014, passengers riding Central Florida’ new commuter rail system are able to take advantage of a variety of discounts at participating merchants with the idea that each promotion would offset the cost of the average trip to Winter Park from any of the 11 other origination points along the tracks.

“The Winter Park SunRail stop continues to be one of the top destinations along the 32-mile route,” explained Patrick Chapin, President/CEO of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. “What our merchants have done is created a simple ‘thank you’ for the riders who work in and visit our community.”

The initial launch features offers from 20 different merchants along Park Avenue, including complimentary admission to The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, discounts at local shops and savings at several restaurants and cafes, which are particularly appealing to commuters looking for a lunch spot close to the office. Offers will be updated and added throughout the length of the promotion. Details are available at www.experienceparkavenue.com/sunrail.
