SunRail And Autism Society Of Greater Orlando Host “Art For Rail Safety” At Orlando Museum Of Art

ORLANDO, Fla. – On Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 10-11 a.m., students of Autism Society of Greater Orlando (ASGO) art class in partnership with SunRail and Orlando Museum of Art will showcase their original works of art promoting SunRail safety in honor of Rail Safety Week, September 19-23.

SunRail launched a new inclusive rail safety education program called “Safety is For Everyone” earlier this year. The program features specially designed rail safety education presentations for individuals with hearing, visual, and cognitive disabilities. Through this outreach and after a group ride on SunRail, ASGO students were inspired to create their own SunRail works of art. Students will be presented with award certificates for their artistic contributions during the event. Orlando Museum of Art is offering a $5 discount on admission during Rail Safety Week with verification of SunRail fare.

The Safety is for Everyone program was developed with grant funds awarded through Operation Lifesaver and a matching contribution from the Florida Department of Transportation.

Date & Time: Thursday, September 22, 2022, 10-11 a.m.
Location: Orlando Museum of Art, 416 N. Mills Ave., Orlando, FL 32803
