SunRail Train Activity This Weekend – Quiet Zone And Grade Crossing Preemption Testing

Seminole County, City of Longwood – Drivers and passersby can expect to see SunRail train activity this weekend on the railroad tracks in the vicinity of the City of Longwood. SunRail is performing testing related to the implementation of future quiet zones and signal preemption at grade crossings. This work will occur on (approximately) a 2-mile section of the railroad. Testing could occur on either track and is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 18. The testing time will last for approximately six hours during the afternoon.

Railroad crossings where testing is occurring:

  • North Street
  • CR 427 (S. Ronald Reagan Blvd.)
  • Palmetto Street
  • Orange Avenue
