Traffic Advisory: Closures Scheduled for SunRail Upgrades in Kissimmee

Detour signage will be in place to direct motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians for each road closure (see attached detour maps):

Magnolia Street: Magnolia Street will be closed in both directions between Lindsay Way and Royal Street from 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 16. A detour will be in place to direct traffic to take Royal Street, Ingram Street, and Carson Avenue to East Vine Street (U.S. 192). 

Oak Street: Intermittent lane closures will occur on Oak Street between Lawrence Silas Boulevard and Bay Street between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays from Tuesday, April 9, to Thursday, April 18. Oak Street will be closed in both directions between Lawrence Silas Boulevard and Royal Street from 10 p.m. Friday, May 3, to 4 a.m. Monday, May 6. During the full closure, detours will be in place for both westbound and eastbound traffic. Motorists wishing to head westbound on Oak Street will be directed to turn left onto Lawrence Silas Boulevard, turn right onto Neptune Road, and turn right onto Main Street (U.S. 441) before returning to Oak Street. Motorists wishing to head eastbound on Oak Street will be directed to turn left onto Main Street and turn right onto East Vine Street (U.S. 192) before returning to Oak Street.

Drivers should remain alert to detours, directional cones and signage, and should expect delays. Pedestrians should follow sidewalk detour signs directing foot traffic.
