The railroad crossing at Colonial Drive (S.R. 50) will be closed to traffic in both directions between 9 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 and 3 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016. The closure is needed to replace the existing crossing with new concrete panels and asphalt approaches, which will provide a safer and smoother crossing for motorists.
Detour signs will be placed at key locations in the area to direct drivers around the work zone.
Detour Information:
– Traffic traveling west on Colonial Drive will be directed to take a left onto North Orange Avenue, a right turn onto West Amelia Street, then a right turn onto North Garland Avenue.
– Traffic traveling east on Colonial Drive will be directed to take a right onto North Hughey Avenue, take a left onto West Amelia Street, then turn left onto North Magnolia Avenue.
Motorists are advised to plan for extra time during this temporary closure. If work is completed earlier, the roadways will be reopened accordingly. Please note that this schedule may change due to bad weather or other unexpected conditions.
